Forensic and psychological health assessments enable you to screen candidates for assessment in coaching, therapy and a deeper understanding of personality, psychopathology, psychological health and risk assessment in criminal behaviour. With this training you can help clients identify their needs and potential using advanced personality, neuro-developmental and forensic assessments.

CURRICULUM

 

Module 1: The Context of Assessment and Development

Ethics: Duty of Care, Scope/Limits, Accreditation, Ethical/Legal, Insurance, Contracts, Confidentiality, GDPR. Client Suitability: Informed Consent, Language, Literacy, Technology, Accommodations.

Module 2: Varieties of Tests and Test Administration

Types of Tests: IQ, Ability, Aptitude, Attainment, Careers, Personality. Test Adminsitration: Modes of Testing; Pre-test Issues; Test Materials; Venue; Candidate Preparation; Administration.

 

Module 3: Scoring, Feedback and Reporting

Ability and careers test administration, scoring, feedback and reporting practicals. Scoring and Interpretation (Scores - z-scores, IQ/Standard, Stens, Stanines, T-Scores, %iles); Feedback Preparation and Interview. Report Writing: Context; Results; Interpretation; Implications; Recommendations.

Module 4: Choosing and Accessing Tests

Choosing Tests: Normative, Criterion, Ipsative, IRT; Sampling, Reliability, Validity, Error & Bias; Test Evaluation. Accessing Tests: Test Reviews; Print & Online; Suppliers - Qualification & Test Access.

 

Module 5: Ethics, Best Practice and Legislation

Ethical/Legal Compliance: Candidates Rights, Legal Obligations, GDPR, Organisational Testing Policy.

 

Module 6Personality Assessment for Selection, Development and Coaching - Ability, Careers (OIP+), Traits & Values (PVQ); covered if also taking BPS Certification in Occupational Testing, TUOAP.

Module 7: Personality Assessment for Psychological Health and Risk Assessment

THEORY Key theoretical areas in forensic assessment, such as: Understanding Personality and Disorder; Psychopathology and Criminality; Coaching Psychological Health and Wellbeing; Clinical Judgement and Risk Assessment; and Labelling, Diagnosis &  Client Management. 

PRACTICE Training in assessment and coaching for psychological health and wellbeing using tests of DSM personality styles, psychopathy and neurodevelopment, including: 

  • Levels of Personality Functioning (AMPD Model)

  • NEO – 120 (IPIP-NEO-120)

  • Personality Inventory for DSM-5 – Short Form (PID-5-SF)

  • Brief Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (B-HiTOP)

  • Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ)

  • ADHD Clinical Outcome Scale;

  • Dyslexia Screening Test (DST)
