Personality, forensic and psychological health assessments provide coaches, therapists, psychologist and development specialists with a deeper understanding of their clients' psychological needs and behaviours. This training provides you with the knowledge, skills and access to use measures of personality types and traits, neuro-cognitive functioning, psychopathology and health and well-being.

CURRICULUM

 

Module 1: The Context of Assessment and Development

Ethics: Duty of Care, Scope/Limits, Accreditation, Ethical/Legal, Insurance, Contracts, Confidentiality, GDPR. Client Suitability: Informed Consent, Language, Literacy, Technology, Accommodations.

Module 2: Varieties of Tests and Test Administration

Types of Tests: IQ, Ability, Aptitude, Attainment, Careers, Personality. Test Adminsitration: Modes of Testing; Pre-test Issues; Test Materials; Venue; Candidate Preparation; Administration.

 

Module 3: Scoring, Feedback and Reporting

Interpretation (Scores - z-scores, IQ/Standard, Stens, Stanines, T-Scores, %iles); Feedback Preparation and Interview. Report Writing: Context; Results; Interpretation; Implications; Recommendations.

Module 4: Choosing and Accessing Tests

Choosing Tests: Normative, Criterion, Ipsative, IRT; Sampling, Reliability, Validity, Error & Bias; Test Evaluation. Accessing Tests: Test Reviews; Print & Online; Suppliers - Qualification & Test Access.

 

Module 5: Ethics, Best Practice and Legislation

Ethical/Legal Compliance: Candidates Rights, Legal Obligations, GDPR, Organisational Testing Policy.

 

Module 6: Coaching with Measures of Ability, Career Interests, Values and Personality (3 Days)

(Confers the BPS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing, TUOAP)

The course provides certified training in Occupational Testing, including administration, scoring/interpretation, analysis, feedback, reporting and coaching using tests of cognition, career interests, motivational values and personality for use in your psychological health and wellbeing coaching practice, including: 

• ABILITY: Verbal and Numerical Reasoning assessments;

• CAREERS: The Occupational Interest Profile (OIP+), a comprehensive assessment of 8 career interests and 8 personal work needs based on the 5-Factor model, linked to an extensive database of Occupational Titles associated with the client's career interests and personality

• PERSONALITY: The Personality & Values Questionnaire (PVQ), based on Cattell's 16PF/15FQ model, the latest in personality assessment for coaching combining 21 traits and 12 motivational values;

Module 7: Coaching with Measures of Psychological Wellbeing and Neurodiversity (2 Days)

(Confers the BPS Certificate of Competence in Forensic Testing, CCFT) 

The course provides certified training in coaching psychological health and wellbeing, including  administration, scoring/interpretation, analysis, feedback, reporting and coaching using tests of dysfunctional personality styles, psychopathy and neurodevelopment, including: 

• Levels of Personality Functioning (AMPD Model)

• NEO – 120 (IPIP-NEO-120)

• Personality Inventory for DSM-5 – Short Form (PID-5-SF)

• Brief Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (B-HiTOP)

• Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ)

• ADHD Clinical Outcome Scale;

• Dyslexia Screening Test (DST)
