Occupational assessments enable you to screen candidates to make effective selection decisions,
as well as providing career and performance coaching support to leaders, teams and front-line staff.
This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to use test effectively for the assessment of ability and aptitude as well as personality traits (16PF/15FQ) and motivational values (PVQ).
CURRICULUM
The BPS qualifications in Occupational Testing offer 4 levels of Certification:
1) Test User Ability and Personality (TUOAP), Modules 1-6: All 3 levels of training (TUP, TUA & ATU) in using tests of ability (GRT/CRTB/ART), career interests (CAI/OIP) & personality (15FQ+/PVQ/NEO) for selection, career coaching and personal/team/leadership development to C-suite level.
2) Test User Personality (TUP), Module 1-2 & 5-6: Comprehensive training in careers and personality (CAI/OIP; 15FQ+/PVQ/NEO) assessment for career, personal/team/leadership coaching & development.
3) Test User Ability (TUA), Modules 1-4: Training in test administration/scoring/reporting of ability and aptitude tests; also provides access to tests of career interests for career coaching and development.
4) Assistant Test User (ATU), Modules 1-2: Test administration training to support qualified Test Users.
Module 1: The Context of Assessment and Development
Ethics: Duty of Care, Scope/Limits, Accreditation, Ethical/Legal, Insurance, Contracts, Confidentiality, GDPR. Client Suitability: Informed Consent, Language, Literacy, Technology, Accommodations.
Module 2: Varieties of Tests and Test Administration
Types of Tests: IQ, Ability, Aptitude, Attainment, Careers, Personality. Test Administration: Modes of Testing; Pre-test Issues; Test Materials; Venue; Candidate Preparation; Test Administration and Scoring.
Module 3: Scoring, Feedback and Reporting
Ability test administration, scoring, feedback and reporting practicals. Scoring and Interpretation (Scores - z-scores, IQ/Standard, Stens, Stanines, T-Scores, %iles); Feedback Preparation and Interview. Report Writing: Context; Results; Interpretation; Implications; Recommendations.
Module 4: Choosing Tests - Reliability, Validity and Fairness
Ability test administration, scoring, feedback and reporting practicals. Scoring and Interpretation (Scores - z-scores, IQ/Standard, Stens, Stanines, T-Scores, %iles); Feedback Preparation and Interview. Report Writing: Context; Results; Interpretation; Implications; Recommendations.
Module 5: Ethics, Best Practice and Legislation
Ethical/Legal Compliance: Candidates Rights, Legal Obligations, GDPR, Organisational Testing Policy.
Module 6: Personality Assessment for Selection, Development and Coaching
Online test administration, profile analysis, feedback and reporting using Cattell's 16PF personality traits (15FQ+), Costa & McCrea's 30-Factor NEO questionnaire, as well as the latest in personality assessment for coaching combining 21 traits and 12 motivational values - the Personality & Values Questionnaire (PVQ). Sample Reports below.

All of your course materials are provided online in your personal eLearning account, including the
Course Manual, Practice Test Materials, Assignments and an extensive set of Resource Files for completion and upload of your course assignments. We also post to you a print copy of the Course Manual and test materials.

1 Practicals: Ability test administration, scoring, feedback and reporting. Personality profile Analysis, Feedback and Reporting using the 16PF/15FQ+, NEO 30-Factor Questionnaire and the Personality & Values Questionnaire (PVQ) combining 21 traits and 12 motivational values scales.
