PERSONALITY SPECTRUM

The International Personality Item Pool – Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness – 120 item version (IPIP-NEO-120) is a 120-item self-report personality inventory for use by older adolescents and adults (ages 16+). Developed by Johnson (2014), this assessment provides a shorter alternative to the original 300-item IPIP-NEO while maintaining strong psychometric properties.

​The Personality Inventory for DSM-5 – Short Form (PID-5-SF) is a 100-item self-report measure designed to assess maladaptive personality traits.  It measures 25 personality facets as well as traditional personality disorders. The scale is accompanied by the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 – Adaptive, which selectively administers items most likely to provide clinically meaningful information.

The Brief Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (B-HiTOP), developed by the HiTOP Consortium, is a 45-item self-report measure designed to provide broad screening assessment of dimensions that span the hierarchical structure of psychopathology in adults (HiTOP Consortium, 2025). 

The NovoPsych Five Factor Personality Scale – 30  is a brief self-report personality inventory measuring the well established five factor model of personality (a.k.a OCEAN). It is for use by older adolescents (ages 16+) and adults, where personality characteristics are compared to age and gender norms on the five factors of Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism.

The Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Teacher Rating Scale (VADTRS) is a 43-item teacher-report measure designed to assess symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and common comorbid conditions in children aged 5-12 years (Wolraich et al., 1998). It is the teacher rated version which can be used in parallel with the parent version: Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Parent Rating Scale (VADPRS).

The Borderline Symptom List – Short Version (BSL-23) is a 23-item self-rating instrument for specific assessment of borderline personality disorder (BPD) symptomatology in adults (18+). The scale assesses DSM BPD diagnostic criteria (e.g., affective instability, recurrent suicidal behaviour, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behaviour, and transient dissociative symptoms) and self-criticism, problems with trust, emotional vulnerability, and proneness to shame, self-disgust, loneliness, and helplessness (Kleindienst et al., 2020).
